An outrageously hilarious race against the clock begins when Savannah Honeycutt agrees to get her feisty mother all the way from Alabama to California in time for her brother’s wedding. Savannah’s problem: Mama won’t fly.

Savannah, accompanied by her mother, Norleen, and soon to be sister-in-law, Hayley Quinn, embark on a road trip adventure where they meet a slew of quirky characters such as Cousin Chicken who is in love with a mayo jar, Uncle Ferd, an oddball and dancing fool, Great Aunt Pawnee, a frail yet cranky old lady, Kiki, an excited and passionate bimbo ready to get hitched in Vegas, and so many more!

This show is perfect for both veteran actors and those who have never been on stage before!

Audition Details

Dates & Times: 

• Monday, February 16, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

• Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Venue: Wheelice Wilson, Jr. Theatre at Coppell Arts Center – 505 Travis St., Coppell, TX 75019

• Appointments will be given priority, and walk-ins will be taken as time allows.

• Auditions will include readings from the script (sides will be available at the audition)

• Those auditioning should be prepared to list all conflicts or potential conflicts and availability for the rehearsal period as specified in the audition notice

• No conflicts accepted during performances

Rehearsals

• Rehearsals will begin Monday, February 23

• Generally held on weeknights (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., and Sunday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

• A detailed rehearsal schedule will be made available upon the completion of casting

• Tech/dress rehearsal week: March 22, 23, 24, 26

Performances

• Performance dates: March 27, 28, 29, April 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12

• Friday & Saturday evenings @ 8:00 p.m. & Sunday matinees @ 2:30 p.m.

Available Roles 

Three female leads; up to 5 male ensemble roles; up to 5 female ensemble roles [a slew of quirky characters such as an oddball and dancing fool, an excited and passionate bimbo ready to get hitched in Vegas, and so many more!]

This show is perfect for both veteran actors and those who have never been on stage before! Smaller roles may be combined for smaller cast size.

Savannah Honeycutt (female): age range 20-40 - The practical daughter trying to get her mom to California.

Norleen Sprunt (female): age range 40-70 - The feisty mother who won’t fly.

Hayley Quinn (female): age range 20-30 - The well-meaning future sister-in-law.
