PEROT! American Patriot

By Dave Lieber

Born during the Great Depression, Ross Perot Sr. became one of America’s most beloved billionaires. He built the computer services industry, battled General Motors, helped veterans, and ran (twice) for president of the United States. Written by Watchdog Columnist Dave Lieber for The Dallas Morning News, this play will be presented by Theatre Coppell in its world premiere, which examines Perot’s life-long motto: Always pursue world-class excellence.

Ripcord

By David Lindsay-Abaire

The cantankerous Abby is faced with sharing her senior living quarters with Marilyn, a new arrival, so Abby has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a game of one-upmanship, which reveals the tenacity of these worthy opponents. Amid funny lines and situations, deeper truths emerge.

Steel Magnolias

By Robert Harling

All the ladies who are anybody come to have their hair done at Truvy’s hair salon. Truvy is helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle, who is not sure whether or not she is still married, and Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon Ouiser, (“I'm not crazy, I've just been in a bad mood for forty years.”); an eccentric millionaire Miss Clairee; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter Shelby is about to get married. Later Shelby, a diabetic, risks her health to have a baby. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which makes them a truly touching, funny, and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

Little Shop of Horrors

Book & Lyrics by Howard Ashman

Music by Alan Menken

In this deviously delicious smash hit musical, the meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant – a singing carnivore that promises unending fame and fortune as long as Seymour keeps feeding it BLOOD! Recently revived on Broadway, the show previously ran off-Broadway for 30 years. This tongue-in-cheek comedy brings an arrangement of laughter, tears, and toe-tapping tunes.

The Miracle Worker

By William Gibson

The true story of Helen Keller – blind, deaf, and mute – is a study of how children learn language. But, in addition, it is about perseverance and stubbornness as Helen’s teacher Annie Sullivan never gives up on the girl’s potential to live a full life, even when others are content to give up. In this play, we see that Annie is Helen’s salvation and, likewise, Helen is Annie’s life-long self-redemption.

A Little House Christmas

By James DeVita

Based on the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder

The Ingalls family is warm and happy in their little house by Plum Creek, just outside the town of Walnut Grove. School starts and the children eagerly learn their A-B-C’s until it’s time for the Christmas holidays, and everyone is keeping secrets about the presents they have to give. All the characters are there: Laura, Mary, Carrie, Ma, Pa, Mr. and Mrs. Olsen, and Nellie, and there are surprises all around on Christmas Day that remind us that love is the greatest gift of all.
