In the Main Hall of the Coppell Arts Center, 505 Travis Street, Coppell

Amon Carter, Jr., was generous, wealthy, friend of Presidents, and an eccentric. His loyalty to his hometown Fort Worth prompted him to compete with neighboring Dallas. Legend has it that when he had to attend a function in Big D, he would eat from his own sack lunch so that he didn’t have to consume Dallas food. Out of respect for his preference not to walk the streets of Dallas, this play is not performed within the Dallas city limits, and Theatre Coppell is proud to produce this show for the first time in Dallas County.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella

The first show in the new

Wheelice Wilson, Jr. Theatre

in the Coppell Arts Center, 505 Travis Street, Coppell

Cinderella, treated like a slave by her stepmother and stepsisters, is paid a visit by her Fairy Godmother, who shows her that anything is possible. With a sweep of the Godmother’s magic wand, Cinderella is aided to go to the Prince’s ball in a gorgeous gown in a golden carriage pulled by transformed mice. When the clock strikes twelve, Cinderella’s magic is fading when she must escape the castle, leaving her glass slipper behind. In a kingdom-wide search, the Prince finally locates her and, of course, there is a happy ending. This spectacular new Broadway musical revives the popular songs “In My Own Little Corner” and “Impossible,” plus a host of other fabled tunes.
